I am a huge fan of the body shop, i have been for quite a few years. My mum used to always go in there, and i was pretty fascinated by all the lovely smells and different products there were. I've recently started going into the body shop once again, and i don't understand why i haven't been in there for a couple of years, i must be mad! I went in there after reading good reviews on some of the products, which made me want to go in and have a look. The body shop aren't particularly cheap, so every so often i save up and have a little splurge. The body shop is a treat for me, and I'm sure me and the body shop will become much more acquainted over the next few months! A few months ago i purchased some of the born lippy's as they were only £2 each, and they had a 3 for 2 offer on, bargain. I was very impressed by them, in the winter my lips get dry and really chapped (mmm, attractive), and the born lippy's saved my lips completely, so already a big thumbs up from me.
I was browsing the body shops website a few weeks ago and i noticed they had brought out a new range of born lippy's, but in stick form. I had a look at them, and first off i give them a 10/10 for the packaging, it reminded me of an artist we studied a couple of years ago in art (for the life of me i cannot remember their name). It's very gimmicky and sucked me right in, i wanted all of them! There are six colours available, and as you may have seen in a haul a couple of posts ago, i went and purchased two of them. I vow that next time i pop into the body shop, i will get some more, i LOVE them.
They cost £3 each, and you get quite alot of product with that. They are a lip balm, but add a slight hint to the lips, especially the darker colours. They do the same job as the born lippy's in pot form, but they're slightly easier to apply. They go onto your lips really well, and they also have great staying power, lasting for about an hour on the lips. Lip balms aren't made to stay on all day, but i don't mind topping up. You can really smell the flavours as you apply it to your lips, which is always good. They smell delish, and love to have a good sniff before i put it on my lips (i'm aware that sounds slightly weird, lol). I have pink berry and pomegranate, and i have had alot of use out of pink berry, at first i thought it smelt a bit sour but i've got used to smell now and i actually quite like it. Pomegranate smells nice too, although i haven't used it as much as it gives a red tint to the lips which school would not like. I will be trying it this week though as i'm now on half term (yay!).
The downsides to this product is the awful plastic packaging. As i said, i love the design, but i'm not very keen on the actual packaging, it looks a bit cheap for the body shop, and i think they could have done alot better for £3.
Other than that, i love the new born lippy's. They're very nourishing and moisturising to the lips, the packaging looks great, and they're a good price.
