Huge Update!

Hey dolls!

Long time no speak ey? ;) I'm a bad bad blogger, i know:( i have reasons!

  • It was my birthday. Okay, so my birthday was 10th of April, but it was my 16th..
  • Revision. I'm in the midst of my GCSE's, and revision started over a month ago, and it's pretty much taken up my time.
  • I've been trying to get fit, i'm doing Race For Life at the end of June and i've been out running and walking for any time i'm not at dance or revising!
  • Relaxing. Well, you've got to have a bit of a chill out every once in a while don't you? (everyday shh)
  • YouTube! I finally took the plunge and started YouTube. If you want to check out my channel, my name on there is the same as my blog: Laurasadaydreamer
  • I got two new little fluffballs, another post on them :)
There, all my excuses! I will be doing following posts with pictures about some of these things and maybe videos, so keep watch on my YouTube if you want to see that!

Garnier Moisture Match Moisturiser 'Shine Be Gone' | Review

After my beloved Matiffying Day Cream from The Body Shop ran out, and the price had gone up, these new Moisture Match moisturisers from Garnier were released at the right time! I have oily skin so i bought 'Shine Be Gone' which is the green one.
It claims to be fast absorbing and oil free, to give 24 hour hydration and is suitable for sensitive skin. It also says on the box:

'Matiffying fresh texture- oil-free and easy to absorb. Enriched with green tea extract, well known for its anti-oxidant properties, it will leave your skin feeling beautifully smooth and mattified all day long. You can feel the difference instantly.
Shine be gone is enriched with a patented hydrating active and reinforces the skin's barrier function, helping your skin to maintain its level of hydration'.

I have been using this moisturiser for about a month, and i can honestly say it does just as good a job as the Body Shop Matiffying Day Cream, if not better. I can definitely tell the difference to using this and not using this, because although i have oily skin, if i don't moisturise my skin can feel quite tight and dehydrated. So not only is this a fantastic moisturiser, but this keeps all oil at bay for the whole day. If you have mega oily skin then powder top ups may be required, but for someone who just has regular oily skin, this moisturiser will mattify your skin for the whole day and as it claims, leaves it feeling hydrated for (nearly) 24 hours.

When i take my makeup off at night, my skin again feels a bit tight and de-hydrated, and Garnier suggests to use this morning and evening, although i must admit, I'm not really bothered about matiffying my skin just for bed, but if you want to, it would help to reduce oil production for the next day.

This moisturiser costs £5.99 in Boots, and with that you get 50ml. I've been using this everyday for a month and you wouldn't even be able to tell if I've used any, because it still feels full to the brim. I'm so glad I've found this moisturiser, as my body shop one was £10 for the same amount of product, plus i find the Garnier moisturiser to be much more beneficial for my skin and massively reduces shine and oil throughout the entire day without worrying about powdering, a winner if you ask me!

February and March | Apologies and Summary

I am back! I haven't blogged in so so long and i am finally here again on my little space on the Internet about to try and explain my reasons for absence.

I've been tres ill, i caught a flu thing THREE TIMES and was off school for a total of 7 days (bad for a year 11, whoops), but that couldn't be helped. I was feeling very under the weather and stressed so i just took some time to focus on getting my health better and relaxing, and really, i think that's a good enough reason for not blogging :)

I've also been using up my last little bits of energy i had after being ill towards dancing and homework, having 8 dance shows and 4 exams to prepare for, i've been a busy busy bee, but i'm back now!
I have to warn you though, i am taking my GCSE's over the next three months so posts may be slowed down, but don't worry, i haven't forgotten about you and i check in here everyday :)

I did a January summary, and i thought i would do a February and March one too, not because i feel you're all interested in what i do everyday, but because i think it's nice to look back on things like this and appreciate what i did that month because sometimes it's hard to remember off the top of your head.

February

In February i was rehearsing loads and loads for 6 dance shows (the same show, done 6 times) which i didn't mind at all because i just laaave dancing. I had two days of dance intensive for the other dance company i'm in which was so much fun but completely exhausted me!

Illness number one, i caught it mid February and i was in bed for 5 days, although i went in for an English speaking and listening exam where we had to do a speech about the future to our classmates and i got an A*, ooooh yeah ;)

I had my college interview, and was offered a conditional offer!

Let the dance shows begin! The last day of Feb saw the first of the 6 dance shows! :)

Looking Spiffing!

March

6 dance shows in 4 days, again very tiring but I LOVED IT SO MUCH!
The day after the last show i had a maths gcse paper, which fingers crossed i did alright in, maths isn't my strongest point:/

Illness number two. Unfortunately i hadn't had enough time to fully recover from being ill the first time, and after being close to many many people and children for 4 days, i got ill again. This time was worse than the first and third time, i literally couldn't walk 5 steps without needing to rest, flu is poopy:( I was off school for four days (friends didn't even bother asking if i was okay, but that's a different story).

This is extremely sad, but a highlight of the month for me was seeing Vicar of Dibley return to our screens on Comic Relief. I LOVE the Vicar of Dibley i have the boxset which i've watched about a thousand times (hear the clicking of people unfollowing, haha). No one really understands my love for it, it's brilliant! Ps, The actor who plays Jim lives in the village next to my town ;)

Illness number 3. I was very fed up by now and i hadn't felt completely healthy for nearly a month which sucked:( I wasn't allowed any more time off school because of exams, so i had to stick out feeling really crap for days, where all i could think about was being snuggly in bed, which is were i should've been really.

I then had two more dance shows, which weren't AS exciting because i was only doing one or two dances, but we had a great time in the dressing room!

I lost 10 pounds! I think i mentioned in my January post that i was losing weight and although i've done it as slow as a snail, i have lost 10 pounds and healthily too! Okay, so some of it may have been down to the fact that i was ill and didn't really have much of an appetite, but then again, i wasn't working out due to it, so it was kinda balanced out.

I have made a new blog for my weight loss: lauralosesweight.blogspot.com

Thanks for sticking with me!

January Summary

January was a great start to 2013, nothing really bad happened and i was generally happy!
So i was really glad 2012 was over and done with, so i embraced the new year. On new years day i went on a lovely long countryside walk with my mum and the dog, you know how i love the country!
Three weeks of the month were taken over by Chemistry and English revision, i couldn't be glad that they're over! I'm not looking forward to all my exams in May and June :(
I went to see the pantomime which i really enjoyed, even though it was mostly little kids although they wouldn't of gotten half of the jokes.. It was hilarious!

I made a new Facebook.. i did a post a few months ago ranting about it, but i caved in because i felt left out since all my friends talked about what they saw on Facebook everyday, plus i speak to family on there that i don't see so much, which is probably the main reason i made a new Facebook.

January was great for dance, I've been rehearsing for a show at the end of this month, I've been working hard on choreography for our BTEC dance show in June, and the most exciting thing was probably a dancer who used to go to my school who's now in London dancing on the X Factor and has been in various music videos came in to our BTEC dance class and made a routine for us, I'm still excited about that now and it's finished and looking fierce!

I got a conditional offer from the college i want to go to! It's a bit out of my way as it's the closest college that does Dance, my interview is this month so wish me luck!

We got snow! I know snow can be controversial, but i personally love snow. Plus we got a day off school, i was a happy girlie!

I started my weight loss journey. I'm finally buckling down and going for it. I've been doing Scola's six month challenge which you can search on YouTube, it's a challenge which is getting us all hot for summer! I've only lost 3lbs so far and my aim is 30lbs, I've gotten off to a slow start but I'm picking up the pace now!

So i hope the new year has treated you all well and that February will continue to do the same!

My New Fitness Routine

Hello everyone! I hope the new year is treating you well! The new year for me has gotten off to a brilliant start, I'm feeling very positive about many things in my life right now and the new year motivation is still going. Which leads me on to this post, my new fitness routine. I've only just begun, so it's sort of a bit rough and ready, but hopefully you'll get the idea, and it may motivate you to do the same :)

So i came across a website called My Fitness Pal, which is a website and app to help you keep track of how many calories you have in a day. You type in your weight and height and it gives you a goal calorie number, like mine is 1870 calories a day. You keep a diary of what you have eaten, and it adds up the calories for you and takes them off your daily allowance. If you exercise, it then gives you extra calories for how much you've burned off, which i don't see as very helpful as you're basically eating those calories you've just worked hard to burn off. It also helps you to keep on top of how many cups of water you've had, as it recommends 8 cups a day. I've recently started to drink more water, as i would only drink if i was really thirsty. I've seen many benefits to doing this, and i feel so much healthier.
Once you've completed your daily food diary, it tells you what you would weigh in 5 weeks if every day were like today. I find this useful as it gives you something to aim for, as if you didn't try that hard today, it would still pay off in a few weeks, and imagine what you could achieve if you tried even harder?
So far i haven't gone over my daily allowance of calories and hopefully i will see improvements in the next few weeks. I obviously have been starting to eat alot healthier, just because somethings not high in calories doesn't mean it's not bad for you. For example, i have stopped snacking on crisps and chocolate, and instead have been reaching for fruit (although a banana is a whole 200 calories, 200 calories?!).
I recommend My Fitness Pal to anyone, it's free to join and you can download it to iPhones, iPads, androids and windows phones.

What's a fitness routine without exercise? As many of you may know, I'm a dancer and during term time, i do several classes a week, and that's my exercise sorted. Whenever I'm not dancing, such as in the holidays and weekends, i stick on a workout DVD. These things are blooming brilliant, i could only do 10 minutes to start off with now I'm doing about 35 minutes of it, which is great progress and I'm obviously starting to get a bit fitter. I just use ones on YouTube as it's easier, and the one I'm loving doing at the moment is the Pump It Up workout, which is done by the same people as in the Call On Me video. It's such a fun workout to do, there are different sections like on all workout DVDs, and its really working so far. I find that if you love what you're doing, exercising doesn't seem like so much of a chore, i want to exercise now which is a real shocker, as i never used to feel like this. I love to dance, and obviously that's a workout in itself, so whilst I'm having fun exercising, before i noticed i got fitter and slightly more toned up, without even working too hard for it.

So there we have it, my new fitness routine for 2013. It may change as i go along, but i'm fairly happy with it, and i'm feeling very motivated. If anyone has any particular fitness, workout or diet tips then feel free to leave them below, all advice welcome! And if you've found a new routine, then do let me know

My 2013 Bucket List

People normally make resolutions around the new year about things their goals, such as to lose a stone or to save money. I've tried with resolutions in the past, really i have, but i think i lack motivation towards these things, as I'm sure many people will agree with me, because i don't think i know anyone who has stuck to a new years resolution, and if you have, i salute you!
I came up with the idea the other day to make like a mini bucket list for this year, just of small things i want to do. Not alot of them are serious, i originally started writing this as a sort of summer bucket list, but i turned into a 2013 bucket list. Some of them sound really childish because i am essentially, a big child. I have written some more serious ones nearer the end, but i hope you enjoy reading my little bucket list and that it gives you some ideas :)

I know January is possibly the most depressing month of the year, so everyone keep smiling and just have a good time :)
